A New Forest Artist Inspired by Nature

Flowers Artz and Designs is a personal and creative journey led by Michelle Nears, a New Forest artist whose work is deeply influenced by nature, emotion, and lived experience. Based on the edge of the New Forest in the South of England, her paintings reflect the beauty, colour, and changing rhythm of the natural world.

Alongside her work as a Health Care Support Worker in ophthalmology theatres, Michelle turned to painting as a way to unwind and reconnect. What began as a form of relaxation gradually became something more meaningful  a space to express, reflect, and create with intention.

Inspired by Nature, Colour and Place

Living close to the New Forest provides endless inspiration. From the vibrant greens of spring to the rich tones of autumn and the stillness of winter, each season shapes the mood and direction of Michelle’s work.

Her art explores:

• Landscapes and seascapes
• Wildlife and animals
• Floral patterns and natural forms
• Abstract pieces using Dutch pouring techniques

Working with acrylic and watercolour, she also incorporates texture and layered materials to add depth and movement to each painting. Every piece is created with a strong connection to the environment around her.

A Creative Path Built Over Time

Art has always been part of Michelle’s life. She studied art at school and college and grew up in a creative environment, where design and craftsmanship were part of everyday life. Over time, she has continued to build her skills through practice, art classes, and commissioned work.

Today, Flowers Artz and Designs represents her commitment to developing her art further and sharing it with others. Each painting reflects both her technical growth and her personal story.
