About US

My name is MIchelle Nears and I live on the edge of the New Forest in the South of England near the coast and the city of Southampton.  I was born at Lyndhurst in the New Forest and used to horse ride and compete in local horse shows.  I have a wonderful father and my brother Graham lives in Jersey with his wife Katie and children, my nephew and niece Harry and Chloe.

I have always enjoyed art but it is only in recent times that I have started to paint and draw again to help me relax for my mental wellbeing.  I work as a Health Care Support Worker at Southampton General Hospital in Ophthalmology Theatres.

I used to love art when I was younger and it is now that I am older that I have made the time to paint and to draw, especially flowers, landscapes, abstract paintings, dutch pouring techniques.  I have recently started to paint animals and enjoy painting different animals from farm animals, horses and mythical animals such as dragons and anything which captures my imagination.
